Back Up Your Phone Properly in 10 Minutes
Before any repair, back up your device. This guide covers iPhone and Android, including what most people forget.

iPhone
Settings → your name → iCloud → iCloud Backup → Back Up Now. Stay on Wi-Fi until it finishes. For a full local copy, connect to a computer and choose Encrypt local backup — that is the only way passwords and health data are included.
Android
Settings → System → Backup → Back up now. Photos need Google Photos set to Backup & sync separately; the system backup does not include them at full quality.
What people forget
- Two-factor authenticator apps — export them before wiping anything.
- WhatsApp chats, which use their own backup inside the app.
- Files sitting only in Downloads.
If your phone will not turn on, do not attempt anything yourself. Bring it in and ask about data recovery first.
